KS5 Results Day 2023
17 August 2023
Cleeve Park results have increased by 10% in A*- C grades at A Level for Cleeve Park Students compared to 2022 despite a national decrease in the awarding of top grades. The average grade in Technical Awards is a distinction which is outstanding.
The highest achieving students were Thomas Longhurst who gained A Grades in History and Sociology, and A* in Philosophy and Ethics. He is to study History and Politics at Warwick University. Sophie Hollis achieved 3 A grades in Geography, Philosophy and Ethics and Sociology and is off to Loughborough University to study Sociology. Kieren King achieved 3 Distinction stars in the extended triple Sports Diploma (equivalent to 3 A Levels) and Iker Arca achieved 2 Distinctions stars and one distinction. Both are off to University, Kieran to Canterbury to study Sport and Iker to Queen Mary to study Accountancy. Many students have had individual successes too and have achieved their required grades for the next steps in their chosen pathways.
Individual subject success includes: Psychology, Sociology, History, Philosophy and Religion and the extended triple Sports Diploma with students achieving high grades in all areas.
Executive Head Teacher, Alex O’Donnell said: ‘I am extremely proud of the achievements of all our Sixth Form students. Despite the decrease nationally in A Level results, we have continued to improve our A*-C grades. This cohort experienced turmoil throughout their GCSEs, yet have shown the maturity and resilience to achieve at A Level. Our sixth form is academically thriving and at the heart of our school. I wish all of those who leave us this year continued success at University, apprenticeships or in their chosen careers’.
