GCSE Results Day 2022
25 August 2022
The Cleeve Park School community is once again celebrating a spectacular set of GCSE results. Following the disruption caused by the pandemic and the uncertainty of the last couple of years, the atmosphere in our school hall has been one of jubilation and celebration, with all the hard work, resilience and commitment of our students and staff paying off.
There was a wonderful feeling of normality as staff greeted students and their families with their envelopes this morning. This group of Year 11s have been wonderful role models for the whole school community, exemplifying to those students in younger years what hard work and consistent dedication look like. These results stand as testament to the journey of improvement we are on here at Cleeve Park School.
Among the results today were a historic fifteen grade 9s and two D*, with exemplary performance from the following students:
- T K with four 9s, three 8s and one 7
- Hannah S with three 9s, two 8s, two 7s and a D*
- Pethushan M with two 9s, three 8s, two 7s and one 5
- Aimee M with two 8s, four 7s and two 6s
English had a pass rate of 72%, with 56% of students achieving a strong pass of Grade 5 or above. 22% of those grades were in the upper band of grades 7-9.
Maths had a pass rate of 62%, with 46% of students achieving a strong pass of Grade 5 or above. 13% of those grades were in the upper band of grades 7-9.
Science results were also up significantly, with 47% of students achieving a pass, 37% of those Grade 5 or above.
Commenting on today’s results, Headteacher, Mrs Alex O’Donnell said:
“We are extremely pleased with the 2022 results and very proud of our students and what they have achieved. The last two years have been challenging for this cohort, and their resilience has been tested time and time again. Their hard work and determination, along with the commitment and dedication of their teachers was evident in today’s results and on their smiling faces. Our students and teachers have gone above and beyond this year to secure these outstanding results. We look forward to welcoming many of our students back to our sixth form next week.
A huge congratulations to all our students and their families today, and thank you to all those who supported our young people on their journey to success.”
