Summer Letter - July 2020

7 July 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you and your families remain safe and well.

As a school we are proud of the part we have been able to play during the COVID crisis.  Despite all of the challenges, we have kept our school open and safe for the children of key workers and vulnerable students.  In addition, we have been able to provide remote learning and regular contact for all of our students and more recently we have been delighted that we have welcomed our Year 10 and 12 students back to school.

Last week we received guidance from the Government about the arrangements for opening to all students this September.  We are currently working through the guidance and will let you know our plans as soon as they are finalised.

The Kemnal Academies Trust, based on Government guidance, has advised us that we should close our school for the summer break.  Our school will therefore be closed for all students including key worker and vulnerable students over the summer break. We will close at 12pm on Friday 17th July.  Our current plan for the new academic year is to open for Year 7&12 only on 3rd and 4th September (staggered start times to follow) and for the rest of the school to start on Monday 7th September (staggered start times to follow).

I will be writing to you again before the end of term, but in the meantime, you may be interested in the Government’s latest guidance to parents What parents and carers need to know about schools during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

Thank you for your continued support.

Kindest regards
