Information in the event of a partial school closure / implementation of rota system

Dear Parents and Carers

We are experiencing a high level of staff absence at the moment but want to reassure you that this is not because we have staff or students testing positive for Covid 19.  Some staff are having to self isolate; other staff have had a member of their household test positive for Covid 19 and are therefore self isolating.  In addition, we have staff absent for non-covid related issues.

The school has employed a number of supply teachers since the half term break, but the chances of employing even more is slight because demand from local schools is high.  We are therefore considering the possibility of a partial school closure.

If we do have to partially close, our priority will be to remain open every day to years 13, 12 and 11 students together with vulnerable students and those whose parents are key workers.  A rota system may be introduced for students in years 7 to 10 whereby they attend for one week and are then set work to do online the following week.

I hope we do not have to move to a rota system but if the level of staff absence continues to increase we may be forced to.  Please check the website for information about this

Best wishes
